Bummer. It was all cute and witty. What a shame.

Anyways.....

I had two "deadlines" to meet a couple weeks ago. I was stressed about them, but I did make it after all.

Yeah, the story isn't so witty the second time around.

I did post the two new books; one is about our weekend in Vegas and the other is about our two-year stint in Chicago-land. Check 'em out below.

I am now diving into more of my Mom's projects--this time it's the honeymoon book! They toured southern Arizona for ten days--Tombstone, Kartchner Caverns, Queen Mine, and tons more. They even stayed in a notoriously haunted hotel on Halloween night! That one will be posted when it's finished.
My next personal project will be a 7 x 10 storybook about a trip to San Diego a friend and I took last summer.

Kristine Chapman
www.ScraplessBooks.com
scraplessbooks@yahoo.com
klchapm@yahoo.com

Post Vegas...

Well, as promised, I have returned from good ol' Las Vegas. It was great there! The weather was good--got a little chilly at night though. I visited most of the places I had been hoping to, save for Bellagio fountains and there was just no time for any shows.
Also as promised, I took lots of photos--and I'm working on my newest book to house them--"Viva Las Vegas!"
The Freemont Street Experience is outstanding! If you ever visit the city, make sure to include Downtown (or as the locals call it "The Old Strip").

On to other topics...when I returned and checked my email, I found out that Heritage Makers has, indeed, released a new product! It is called the cookbook, but may be used for any purpose. It has a soft cover, I believe, and is spiral bound. Soon, there will be many templates in the template gallery (as always, designed by other consultants like myself) to help you to create your own cookbook--be sure to check in often!

Contact me to learn more about any and all things Heritage!

Kristine
klchapm@yahoo.com
www.scraplessbooks.com
www.myspace.com/scraplessbooks

Viva Las Vegas!

Two days till Vegas!

For anyone who doesn't know, my husband and I are taking a mini vacation to the Strip this weekend, yay! Nickel slots, here I come (yeah, because I'm too cheap for them there pricey dollar slots, haha).
Of course, I'll be toting my camera everywhere--like the true tourist I am--and you can bet there will be a Heritage product at the end of this neon rainbow.

So, did you know just how many shows there are in Vegas--not to mention the vast variety? Yes, I have lived in Arizona nearly all my life and have never been to the Strip; no, I had no idea about the shows. Everyone knows about the cabaret (even me), Wayne Newton and Celine Dion of course, and even the Cirque Du Soliel. BUT, there is a Soprano's show! Oh, yeah, there is! It sounded like a ton of fun--the website (www.vegas.com) didn't give away too much, but for about $70 you can have a nice dinner with the cast before the show and get preferred seating for the show--and the show itself includes the entire audience. Sounds like a blast! Another one that we're leaning toward is the Price is Right show. It's basically the same as the one on TV, but with a different host and they let you sip cocktails in the audience. Woohoo--wouldn't that be nice to come home in a new car or something!
How exciting!
Next week, I will be sure to include you all in the telling of my own Vegas Vacation.

Kristine Chapman
www.ScraplessBooks.com
klchapm@yahoo.com

It's been a while...

Wow, I can't believe I haven't posted since November! Well, a lot has a happened I suppose...birthdays, Christmas, more birthdays, making books, selling on ebay, etc.

Anyways, I'm back!

My last post was about finishing up the Wedding album I created for my Mom--it turned out wonderful! She gave everyone a copy for Christmas--they all (myself included) loved them. I am currently working on several projects: my Mom's coffee table album, her honeymoon album, canvases and posters, a vacation book for myself, and I aquired a new customer for ebay. Woo hoo, I'm busy, busy these days! There is, of course, always room for more--so if you're someone wanting to get started on creating your own Heritage books, let me know! I can get you started quickly, easily, and painless-ly (haha)--and, most importantly, save you lots of MONEY that you otherwise could not save on your own--ask me how!

So, one of my New Year's Resolutions this year is to keep current on my blog! I have just wrapped up the finishing touches on my latest project (well, it was actually a couple days ago...)! Some of you out there may know that my Mom has recently re-married...my friend and Sponsor Consultant, Wendy Bailey, was the photographer for the wedding and I was asked to design and publish the albums.
The wedding was beautiful and we all had a wonderful time. I have added the "Parent" album below and will add the other projects as they are completed (the couple's album, a canvas, and a few other posters).

Speaking of weddings, I was also able to complete my Cousin's wedding album a few months ago. I was the photographer there, but I also incorporated others' candid photos into the book. Look for it below as well.

Do you know anyone getting married and still looking for an affordable photographer? Please, feel free to tell them about me! I am very easy to get ahold of; email me at: klchapm@yahoo.com. While there, we cruised along the isles checking out all the event had to offer. There were hundreds of photographers, bakers, caterers, facilities, and more, but as we passed a booth called Heritage Makers, my friend, Gail, told me I needed to get some information because she had heard of them and they were "cool". So, I approached the woman standing in front of one of their tables and asked for a brochure. She said her name was Wendy, handed me a brochure, quickly went over a few details about the company, and asked me to sign up for a drawing for a free book. I of course did, then went about my business. A few days later I received a call on my cell phone from a strange number, so I let it go to voice mail. If you have ever been to an event like this, you know you are pretty much bombarded by phone calls and emails for weeks following it. I later checked the messege though, and it was Wendy telling me that I had won the drawing! I never win anything! It was fate. I had to call her back. So, I did...the next day (well, I didn't want her to think I had been ignoring her call!). So, when I called, we chatted about all things Heritage Makers for a while. She wanted to do an online demo with me, so we figured out a date and time and did one. It was extremely helpful; she showed me all kinds of little tricks, how to do searches, explained what categories and collections were, showed me all the different products, and explained all the current specials. After that, I was hooked. I had already created an account, and since I had won the book, Wendy also threw in a month of the Premeir account. I knew right away that I wanted to make a First Yearbook for my little girl, and I spent every waking moment from then on working on it. I didn't get past the first page though when Wendy invited me to a workshop at a friend's home near her house. I went to the workshop a few days later, Wendy let me borrow one of her laptops, and I sat down with a few seniors in the company and a few newbies too--it was a lot of fun, and helpful as well; I learned a few new tricks and finished a few pages.
A couple of weeks later Wendy called me and asked if I would consider hosting a Celebration; I immediatly said "sure"--why wouldn't I? She had been so nice, and I loved the books--who wouldn't? Everyone needed this in their life! So, I called around and invited about five people I knew; I told them all about how great it was to get my pictures and stories down in a real book, and how excited I was that these books will be around for my children and grandchildren.
The Celebration went great! Everyone that came fell in love with the idea and purchased at least one credit to get them going. Well, when it was just about over and Wendy was leaving, she turned to me and said that the sales that night had reached five hundred dollars, and if I wanted to, I could sign up as a Consultant and she would give me the sales and I would earn enough commission from it to pay for my Consultant kit! Well, okay! So, I did, in February 2008. Wow; and here I am now--still loving it, making more books (and getting better at it), making books for my family, making new friends, and making some money too. I went to regionals in March (or April?) and expanded my business kit with some new products, and lots of new ideas. And, when my daughter turned two in June, I invited Wendy and her kids to get in on the fun!

Heitage Makers has been awesome in my life. I was just a stay-at-home-mom before, but now I'm a stay-at-home-mom/Independent Consultant, with a great passion for preserving my family's past and present.
